BROOKHOLLOW SCULPTURE

"EQUINOX"
Brookhollow Business Park
ABOUT “EQUINOX”

This sculpture took over a year to complete. It began with a small maquette and ended with the piece permanently installed in Brookhollow Business Park in Santa Ana, California. It is composed of travertine marble, stainless steel, and cor-ten steel. The base is cast concrete.
Large scale and natural materials combined to work with the environment. I think of Noguchi and his public plazas.

The way light changes our perception of the materials is kinetic. Shadows move across the surfaces like shadows on a sundial.

A sculpture in an outdoor setting necessarily works with the environment. It draws attention to a location...becomes a marker.
