I welded this sculpture in the sculpture lab at CSUF in 1986-87. The Associated Students commissioned me to build it in response to the shooting death of Professor Oaks that year. It was a commemorative piece intended as a memorial to all faculty and students who die during their tenure at CSUF.
The Sculpture was constructed in mild steel with a resin coating guaranteed to last forever. After 10 years it needed to be replaced. I convinced the Associated Students to cover the cost of replacement. I made absolutely no profit on this piece or it's replacement.
